The Riverfolk Expansion ads great variety and excellent new mechanics to an already Amazing and engaging game. The addition of two new factions, new vagabonds and new game modes manages to keep Root fresh and exciting without introducing radical changes.

The vagabonds are a fun faction to play and with the components for a second vagabond player, plus three additional class variants this faction becomes even more compelling and fun for those who enjoy vagabond gameplay.

Other exciting additions are an increased player count (1-6 players) and the ability to play the game solo with the inclusion of the mechanical Marquise. 

The Mechanical Marquise can be used as a human replacement in multiplayer competitive games. The second way to use the Marquise, is in cooperative games from 1-4 players with a couple rule changes.
